Flighty’s new tool: Network before WWDC

Ana sayfa / Technology

As we approach the kickoff of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next Monday, an innovative opportunity for networking has emerged. Developers who received in-person invitations are already booking flights to Cupertino, California.

Flighty enabling networking for WWDC

To assist in this tech migration, developer Ryan Jones unveiled a unique feature in his popular Flighty flight tracking app. WWDC attendees can now use Flighty for more than just tracking their flights; they can also connect with fellow developers. By inputting their flights into the dedicated Flighty WWDC 2023 website, developers can see who else is travelling from the same airports or possibly sharing the same flights.

This new tool keeps user privacy in mind; while it shares names, it keeps data like dates, flight numbers, and airlines confidential. Besides networking, the tool provides intriguing aggregate data, such as the number of countries developers are flying in from, frequently used departure airports, average travel distances, and more.

A holistic view of WWDC travel trends

A built-in map provides a glance at all incoming flights. Clicking on a particular location reveals the developers who will be flying in from that area. This tool, which is free and available on the Flighty website, could enrich the WWDC experience for developers by providing networking opportunities even before landing in Cupertino.

For the uninitiated, Flighty is a comprehensive flight tracking app that provides all the necessary details for a journey. It alerts you quickly to any changes or possible delays based on late inbound planes, and offers a quick overview of departure/arrival times, gate numbers, baggage claim locations, and more.

We are eager to hear our readers’ thoughts on this new Flighty tool for the upcoming WWDC event. What’s your opinion on this initiative? Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
